Global Citizen is a movement of engaged citizens who are using their collective voice to end extreme poverty by 2030. On our platform, Global Citizens learn about the systemic causes of extreme poverty, take action on those issues, and earn rewards for their actions as part of a global community committed to lasting change.

One of the key ways we can grow that movement is through the editorial content on GlobalCitizen.org and its accompanying channels: stories, videos, and social media that bring the important human rights issues of the world to readers where they are. This is journalism with a purpose — content creation to help make the world a better place for all.

So far, 24.8 million actions have been taken by Global Citizens, leading to $48.4 billion commitments being made by world leaders, which has affected 880 million lives to date.

About the Position

As a key member of the Global Citizen marketing team, you will lead all paid media programs from strategy, planning, execution, optimization, to reporting. Not only will you be hyper-vigilant to audience growth, but also audience retention and continuous engagement.

The ideal candidate possesses two things: 1) the hard skills to effectively target and reach users who have a demonstrated desire to change the world, and 2) the passion to convert those users into lifelong action-takers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage paid and barter media inventory across key social platforms, such as Twitter, YouTube, Facebook & Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, as well as in-kind and barter inventory
  • Execute and monitor paid and barter campaigns in-house, and work with agencies for select efforts
  • Collaborate closely with marketing colleagues to build 360 campaigns, bringing a clear understanding of paid media’s role in the bigger picture of campaign objectives
  • Partner with teams across the full organization, such as Product, Organic Social + Editorial, and Policy
  • Support retention marketing strategies across Email, Organic Social, SMS, and emerging platforms
  • Brief creative assets and work closely with Design and Project Management teams to develop assets designed specifically for paid platforms + new audiences
  • Scope and execute A/B tests across emails, web, mobile, and other consumer-facing communication platforms
  • Document Creation: Develop clear one-sheets to communicate paid plans, build audience segmentation strategy decks, and digestible reporting updates
  • Report to the Sr. Global Brand Director

  • 6-8 years of marketing experience in related industry, agency experience a plus
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience activating paid social across Facebook & Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. Experience with LinkedIn, Snapchat, TikTok, Tinder, and Spotify is a plus
  • Play a critical role in developing campaign KPIs and brand benchmarks
  • Creative thinker with an ability to break down complex messages into digestible paid ads
  • Ability to function as a marketing generalist when support is needed
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Solution-oriented in the face of challenges and high-pressure situations
  • Highly organized, ability to multitask and work in a start-up like environment
