Job Description

This role is an exciting opportunity to join PRI’s growing climate change team. PRI convenes a number of leading investor initiatives. The position will provide analytical and implementation support for the policy tracks of the UN Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance and the Investor Agenda. This is an entry level position that would be well suited to a recent graduate with a background in a climate-related field. Whilst there is a preference for UK-based applicants, exceptional applicants from other countries will, providing they have the right to work in the host country, also be considered.

Core responsibilities

  • Support the running of AoA and Investor Agenda policy tracks, including the organising and preparation for meetings, events and activities. There is scope for a successful candidate to take on more responsibility in time
  • The drafting of briefing and policy papers. PRI input into statements and letters in key markets (US, UK, EU, Japan, China, Australia, Canada)
  • Research into new policy areas, draft PRI positions. This will cover a wide range of climate policy topics – carbon pricing, energy efficiency measure, agriculture policy, measures to support the commercial deployment of hard-to-abate sectors
  • The moderation and facilitation of investor and stakeholder meetings. A successful candidate will at times be asked to represent PRI in meetings of the AoA and Investor Agenda
  • Coordinate activities with other PRI teams, notably Policy and Signatory Relations
  • Provide regular reporting to the Technical Head and Director of climate change as required

Technical competencies & experience

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in a field related to climate change or environment economics. Qualifications in finance would also be desirable
  • Relevant work experience in policy affairs, environmental economics and sustainability would be advantageous
  • Experience of coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Excellent written communication and verbal presentation skills with the ability to deliver high quality briefings and reports with minimal supervision
  • A collaborative and consultative approach to working with others
  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills, the ability to foster an inclusive working environment
  • IT/system skills (Microsoft Office, CRM, social media, webcasts, etc.)
  • Very good organisational skills
  • Some regional and international travel may be required
